Chris Joyce Family

Chris Joyce Family
A lot of you have been asking for an update on Chris, so here it is…

Chris goes back into the hospital Tuesday, Sept. 19th, for another five day inpatient chemo treatment. As many of you know, this last treatment hit him pretty hard and he was down for a week, with lots of fatigue, pain and digestive problems. He is feeling great this week, so it is hard to have to go into this again, knowing he will likely start to feel bad again. Please pray that the side effects are manageable and that he is able to be up and around quickly after this.

Some other concerns to pray about…

We found out that Chris’ brother Patrick and sister Bekah are not donor matches for the stem cell transplant. We are still awaiting the results for his brother Jon. Since siblings are the best hope of a close match, we are not sure how hard it will be to find a match if the siblings don’t work out. We will find out more about this later.

Chris is still having numbness in his hands and feet/ lower leg. He has discussed this with the doctor several times and since the tests on his spine and brain came back clear, their only diagnosis is that it is a side effect of the chemo. He has touch feeling, but he says it feels like they are asleep all the time and that his feet feel like bricks. I can tell he is stumbling a little and he has to be more focused on his walking and driving. Please pray about this.

After next weeks treatment, Chris will take two weeks off, then see his doctor in Arlington, then be passed on to Baylor to start the stem cell transplant process. I will keep you posted on his schedule as it gets closer.

Praises… Chris has worked all week and accomplished a lot at work and even landed some big deals for the company! J (just had to brag on him a little) We are going to have a prayer time with the Elders of our church Sunday morning…

James 5:14-14

14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

Another praise… our room project is really coming along! The painting is done, the shelving in the closet is done, the bathroom floor tile is done. Some one donated wood laminate flooring which will likely be installed next week! Some one else donated shower tiles, which may also be finished out next week! There have been so many people coming to help with this project, many we don’t even know! To all of you who have donated time, materials or funding… we may not know each of you or what you’ve given, but I can promise you that it will never be forgotten and we pray that God blesses you and your family as you have so greatly blessed us. Thank you. Mandy
