We recieved this email from Jerry Williams. Jerry was the founder of Harvest. Harvest was a band that Chris went on the road with at a very young age. Jerry played a huge part in Chris' growth not only in his spiritual life but in Chris' calling as a Sound and Lighting Specialist. The group Harvest became well known in the Contempary Christian music world.
It was at a Harvest concert in our town of Lindale, Texas that Chris and Mandy first met. I remember Mandy sitting on the front row in church the night they met. The band invited her to go to Sonic after the concert. Chris told Mandy later on that he fell in love with her that night as the band all sat around a picnic table at Sonic. I remember Chris started calling her every night after that from all over the states as the band traveled. It was beautiful to watch them fall in love. Jerry I just want to personally thank you for being such a big part in my daughter's life also.
Thank you so much Jerry for investing in Chris' life. He loved you very much and always was greatful to you.
Tammie,
Thank you so much for keeping us informed on Chris’s condition. I was so very sorry to hear of his graduation, but know the Lord has not abandoned any of you during this time. However, I have had a multitude of time to think about the years I had with Chris. One particular memory keeps coming back to me over and over and that is of one evening while on tour in a large auditorium. The Lord was moving powerfully in the concert and as I looked back toward the sound board where Chris was usually covered up with things he was doing I instead saw him standing with his arms lifted as high as he could lift them giving glory and praise to the Lord. I am not sure how long he stayed in that posture praising the Lord, but it was for quite a long time. I witnessed a radical change in Chris over the years and was extremely proud of him. Furthermore, I know that Chris was a major factor in thousands of lives being changed for the glory of God. Without him we could have never done all we did during those incredible days. The Lord says that he who sows and he who waters are the same, but He gives the increase. That means that all the work Chris during his years with me bear the same honor and heavenly treasure as it does in my eternal account. What an honor it was for me to have had the privilege to have him in my life for those years. I have never had another like him and never will.
I am sorry to say I will not be attending the service as I will be out of state, but know that I will be with you in spirit and prayer. Tell Mandy we love her and continue to lift all of you up during this season of transition and change. May the Lord increase your joy in the midst of sorrow and your strength in the midst of weakness. I am forever…
Your brother in Jesus,
Jerry Williams
