Praise Report on Chris 11-27-06
Chris had a Pet Scan and a doctors’ appointment at Baylor today. We had been anticipating bad news today. The Pet Scan was at 1:15 and by the time we saw the doctor later in the afternoon, the Pet Scan lab had closed. The doctor had to get security to let him in to view Chris’ Scan results. Although he was unable to see the scans today, he did see the report and it said… ALL AREAS IMPROVED!!!! This means that the areas that showed tumor before are now showing shrinking. He also had results from last weeks’ blood draw and his AFP has gone down from 16,000 to 8,000!!!! This is wonderful news and shows that the cancer is being responsive to this chemo regimen. When we see the results from today’s’ blood draw, it should be even better, since he has had one chemo treatment and the tumor removed from his arm since that last test!
The doctor wants to do one more round of this chemo regimen, starting on Monday, Dec. 4th (Day 1) and then he will do a treatment on Day 8 and Day 15. Then the doctor is planning to take stem cells and do a bone marrow biopsy to prepare for transplant hopefully in January! Please pray that insurance transitions go smoothly and that all required approvals come through in a timely manner.
So, December will be a fairly calm month, which will be nice for our family time during the holidays. Chris’ incision from surgery is healing well and his pain level is decreasing everyday. He will be following up with physical therapy and see the surgeon in 10-14 days.
I truly had become discouraged and admittedly scared and hopeless. Thank you God for showing yourself today! I accept this as a miracle and anticipate continued full healing in Chris’ body. Your prayers are being answered… keep praying!
Big Hugs,
Mandy
