Chris Joyce Family

Chris Joyce Family

Quick update and Reminders…

Many of you have asked how Chris is doing since he started his new chemo regimen this week. He went to Baylor on Monday for his first treatment. The infusion lasts about four hours, but his bloodwork showed that his red counts were low, so they gave him a unit of blood transfusion on Monday and he had another unit of blood on Tuesday. They give him Benadryl during the infusion, to help with the side effects, so he was pretty tired form this. His brother, Jon, stayed with him all day and is planning to try to take him to the rest of his treatments days at Baylor. Thanks Jon! So far this week, he has mostly just felt a lot of fatigue. But, he has been going to work and eating well. Something to pray for… Although Chris has felt a lot of fatigue, he still doesn’t sleep well at night. He is currently trying his fourth sleeping medication and it looks like it might not be working too. Please pray for Chris to have restful nights,

Reminders…

Sunday, October 15th… The Pastor of our church, Pantego Bible Church, is including us in his sermon. They have shot video footage of our family this week and interviewed us about our dear home group and community group and what they’ve done for us during this time. They will be showing this video in the service and I believe we will be asked on stage at the end of the video. This was a great opportunity for Chris and I to tell so many people thank you. There are many of you, not a part of our Community group or home group, that have helped us in many different ways… our thank you’s go out to all of you. The little and big things you’ve done will never be forgotten. Service times are at 9:00 and 10:45, if you would like to come!

If you would like to help Chris or other people like Chris, by getting on the National Bone Marrow Registry, you have an opportunity to donate blood on Monday, Oct. 16th from 8 to 10 am. Pantego Christian Academy is hosting this event in Chris’ honor. It will be located in the main lobby at two tables. Thanks to all who have done this already. It really blesses us.

As always, thank you for your prayers, thoughts, encouragement and support. We love you and thank God everyday for you going through this with us.

Hugs,

Mandy
