Update on Chris 10-19-06
Chris had an appointment with his doctor at Baylor yesterday. This was just a checkup. Chris told the doctor he has been feeling very well. His blood counts are all normal and he got a flu shot and a shot to keep his red counts normal. The only concern is Chris has begun to notice a lot of pain in his left arm, where the cancer has spread. He notices it a lot when he tries to lift heavy things and usually takes pain medicine for it at night, to help him sleep. The doctor has ordered x-rays to be done on his arm Monday, 10/23, to get a clear picture of what is going on. He is also consulting with a Radiology Oncologist about the possibility of doing radiation on this location. Please pray about Chris’ arm, since there is concern that a break or fracture could happen. Radiation should help combat this problem.
Other news about our family… Cody’s shower was finished on Tuesday, however, we had a slight setback when we discovered no hot water coming to the shower. Needless to say, we were a little panicked that it might be serious and we were worried about having to cut into the new tile work to fix the problem. As of yesterday, the plumber came and fixed what turned out to be a simple problem and Cody took his first shower in his new bathroom last night! Praise the Lord that it wasn’t more serious! The potty is in and working also! Yippee!
Earlier this week, Chris had to put his truck in the repair shop and had to replace all of its’ ignition coils. This was a big job and a big expense, but a few unexpected financial blessings this week have helped us pay for it. Praise God for always supplying our needs!
Thanks for thinking about us and praying for us. I will let you know how Chris’ chemo and x-rays go on Monday!
Love
Mandy
