Joyce Family Update 2-12-07
Chris had a good weekend. He recovered from his surgery quickly and was back on his physical therapy by Saturday afternoon. The weekends are a little slower, since they are not fully staffed, but they kick it into high gear on Monday! He was up and going by about 7:00 am this morning and didn’t stop until 3:00. The day was filled with many different kinds of therapy appointments, but the best part was getting into the pool for aquatic therapy! Chris really enjoyed this. They lifted him into the water with a lift machine and had him doing some leg exercises from the chair lift. Then, they took him out of the chair, and with the assistance of two people, he slowly walked the width of the pool back and forth. The therapist was impressed that he was able to do this on his first day. After his aquatic session, he napped for a little while. He is also getting better at transferring from the wheelchair to the bed and vice versa. Today was the first time I’ve seen him do that with very little assistance. Chris also found out from his doctor that the most recent Pet Scan is only showing tumor to be in the liver ONLY. This is different than what we had heard before… not sure why, unless the doctor hadn’t gotten to see the actual images until now. So, this is good. The abdominal lympnodes and arm areas that had tumor before, are not showing any tumor right now. Chris is doing well. Please pray for a very productive week!
Many of you have asked about our niece, Savanna. As you remember, Savanna and her parents, Pat and Aundra, were in a car accident last Thursday. Savanna is still in the hospital and had surgery today to remove a bone fragment in her hip socket. I have heard today that the surgery went well and she is recovering. Please continue to pray for Savanna and her parents as they may still have a long road ahead with the recovery process. Thank you for your prayers for our family during this time.
We love you.
Mandy
