Update on Chris 2-6-07
Chris was moved to Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation today!!! He is in Room 417 at 3505 Gaston Ave, at the corner of Gaston and Washington. Visitors are welcome between the hours of 6:00 am and 9:00 pm. The mornings will be kinda busy with physical therapy, so afternoon and evening might be best to visit. He got a private room, which is apparently a big deal there! Insurance was dragging their feet still this morning, but God was in control and Chris was shown favor by the right people. We are so excited about the days ahead! There will be a chemo nurse coming over to do his chemo every Friday, once a week, indefinitely. When he is released from Rehab, he will continue chemo outpatient in the clinic. They are excited to get Chris into the pool for aquatic exercises… this may happen by Friday. They also said that he may get a pass to leave the hospital for the day, if he is able to walk a little and transport easily. So, we will look forward to that. Maybe he can come home for a day. The day was a whirlwind… lots of neat things happened. It was a very special, yet emotional time, leaving the BMT Unit, where Chris has been for the last 38 days. We felt so loved there and felt a lot of peace and comfort in those surroundings. BIR is one of the very best places for Chris to be and we are so blessed that he is there. I’ll keep you posted on his progress! Thank you for the prayers!
Mandy
