Update on Chris 3-6-07
I have really exciting news to share! Chris’ discharge date has been moved to FRIDAY, March 9th!!! After 71 days in the hospital, Chris finally gets to come home! We are so excited and can hardly wait! They will be sending home equipment to help him, like a wheelchair, walker, cane, portable oxygen, etc. He will be having two weeks of in home physical therapy and then they will arrange outpatient therapy to follow. He will continue to go to Baylor for his doctors’ appointments and chemo. He had his first chemo treatment on Monday (with the two new drugs). So far, he is feeling well and has continued normal therapy for the week. The chemo will be scheduled on a Day 1 and Day 21 schedule, so it will be three weeks before his next treatment day.
There are no words to express our gratitude for all of the little and big things you all did to help us through this time. It is because of your prayers, love, encouragement and support that we never felt alone through this hard time. Extra special thank you’s to the Duff Community Group, Mandy’s Mom, the Joyce family, our home group, PCA and LANtek… for all you did to take care of us.
“…He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him…” Hebrews 6:10
And, we will never forget and can’t wait to pay it forward.
On January 10th, Chris’ doctor told me that he would likely not make it through this. Now, I am bringing him home! To God be all the glory! Thank you for sharing in our joy!
Love,
Mandy
