Update on Chris 3-14-07
For those of you who have not heard, Chris was re-admitted to the hospital on Tuesday, March 13th. After he came home on Friday, his condition declined over the weekend and he became very weak and started to have a low fever, nausea, high blood pressure, etc. We called the doctor and were able to see him Tuesday afternoon and he admitted Chris right away. He is back at Baylor Dallas, this time on the sixth floor of the Roberts building in room 608. So far, they have found no source of infection, so they believe that he is neutropenic. This means that all of his blood counts are dangerously low and that he is at high risk for infection. So, they have started him on antibiotics and have given him two units of blood. They are watching blood cultures to make sure nothing develops. These are all normal side effects caused by chemotherapy. Chris had chemo Monday, the 5th, so this is about the right time for these symptoms to occur. He is very weak and tired and has not eaten or drank anything for several days. But, they have him on fluids and seem to have everything under control and expect him to be feeling better in the next day or two. Please pray for God to give Chris the strength he needs to recover quickly and to be able to come home soon and stay home. Honestly, this has been hard on our family and it has been a struggle to try not to be discouraged. This is why your prayers are so important to us. Your prayers and encouragement is what keep us going. Thank you.
Love,
Mandy
