Update on Chris 3-12-07
I just wanted to give you a quick update since Chris has come home from the hospital… Unfortunately, coming home, although a good thing, has not been without its’ challenges. His condition seems to have declined since he came home. This is probably most likely due to chemotherapy side effects… it’s about the right time for that to kick in. He has been very weak, more than I’ve seen in the last few weeks. He has also been running a low grade fever almost constantly. The doctor wants us to call if it reaches 100.5 or higher, but it hasn’t gotten that high yet. His appetite has been low and he has spent most of his time sleeping. Because of his weakness, he hasn’t been getting around as well and has required constant assistance to get around. We have been using the wheelchair more than the cane, to be safer. Real Life Physical Therapy came today, but today was mostly evaluation and paperwork. Based on her evaluation, she will determine how often to come. While she was here, she tested his blood pressure and it was high, so she has asked us to start taking it regularly and chart it. We were unable to get in for his lab work today, so we will call the doctor in the morning and see if it can wait until Wednesday or he may want him to come in Tuesday, to make sure his counts aren’t too low.
I wish I had better news to report, but I wanted you all to know, so you could continue to pray. Thanks for all the welcome home wishes and encouragement over the weekend! We love you and are so grateful for all you’ve done.
Love,
Mandy
