Chris Update 1-2-07 9:15 pm
Not a lot of change today. His chest x-rays are still the same. A few positive things… no fever today! Also, the nurse told us that his blood oxygen level is actually showing up as 1-2 points higher in blood tests than the monitor is registering. This is good. His oxygen level seemed to still fluctuate in the high 80’s and low 90’s, but at times was as high as 94. These are all small pieces of good news, but the doctors and nurses are still concerned that he is not progressing as they had hoped. He is still being responsive and it is comforting to feel a squeeze from his hand or see a yes or no head shake to answer questions. We could tell by watching the numbers, that he is having the highest oxygen level when he is in deep sleep and his heart rate is low. So, we have tried to limit the amount of time we spend talking to him and keeping him awake. We do, however, feel that he needs loved on in small doses and prayed for. So, please feel free to come by and love on him and hold his hand and tell him you’re there. Just be careful to keep it short and peaceful. Thank you all for everything you’re doing to help us. I have been telling Chris about you and I know he is comforted that his family is being taken care of. Thank you for al of the blessings today.
Love,
Mandy
P.S. I felt God’s presence in the hospital room so strongly this afternoon. Thank you for your prayers. They bring so much peace.
Chris’ dad just called from checking on Chris at the hospital. The night nurse had a smile when she saw him and said he looked better than when she saw him last night. Also, his latest chest x-ray shows no improvement, but nothing seems to be worse. Praise God!
