Update on Chris 1-17-07
Well, we were told on Monday that Chris’ breathing tube would be coming out soon and we are still waiting. Although frustrated and ready to move forward, we know that it is best not to rush. There are no major complications… the main delay is that Chris is still not waking up very fast from all of the sedation. They want him to be fully awake to be able to respond to commands and such. As we waited for him to wake up today, he had a few other minor issues that caused his numbers to be off a little. After a coughing spell, his respirations tripled and they had to increase the volume on the breathing tube a little and were expecting to possibly have to sedate him a little more, to calm him down. His blood gas tests are showing everything to be within the normal range, just not as good as they would like to see. There is something a little off with his kidneys, but it doesn’t seem like to big a concern. He may just not be quite ready yet. It’s been over two weeks on the breathing tube and a lot of heavy medications, which will take awhile to get out of his system. Tomorrow is a new day and we will see how things are going in the morning.
God is giving me the strength to get through each day, but I am so ready for him to just wake up, so I can hear his voice again. We will continue to trust God as this miracle unfolds. Thanks for your prayers.
Love,
Mandy
